Well to be honest, I was pretty surprised with that pre. I was thinking that the pirates of 777 seas are finally back with a new power. But later I finally realized. Well let's start our short story.

To everyone who wants to praise Razor1911 for the awesome job, hold your horses guys. Let's start from the list of facts: • LaunchGTAIV.exe is equal to the one from the previous stone old Razor update (1.0.4.0 aka Grand_Theft_Auto_IV_v1.0.4.0_Update-RazorDOX). • Razor1911.dll is actually the same one as from the update mentioned above, even though the size is different.

Here we have some proofs: • -> here is a paste of a few decompiled functions (thx IDA) from the old Razor1911.dll • -> here is a paste of the same decompiled functions but from the 'new' Razor1911.dll. As we can see they did a few cosmetic changes by hiding L'GTAIV.exe' string and a few more. • They recompiled their old dll source with a newest VS 2015 (.gfids section inside executable easily reveals that fact) but that still does not hide the imports table they used to resolve custom checks in the past, here is a comparison of both import tables: old.dll ->, new.dll -> The number of KERNEL32.dll imports is different because of the used compiler. I wouldn't expect Razor to come up with a new crack if they already have one that (seems to) work. Though I'm sort of disappointed they are living off their past glories, not really doing anything groundbreaking like they were a few years back.

Still, whoever came up with the source for that crack is still there. Or maybe it's someone else making small changes. I have faith in Razor, and as you may have already realized, will defend them no matter what:P • • • • •.

So this 'current team leader' must have some RE knowledge, and from what I remember from old NFOs, team leaders usually aren't crackers. This is just wild speculation, but take a look at 'Supplied by: (xxx xxxxx)' in the '. It matches 'The GEcko', which is known to have been in Razor's leadership and being a supplier. Maybe he's the one releasing all the GOG games? Clearly he isn't the cracker, because it says 'Cracked by: xxxxxx'. I just have a hard time believing their main cracker isn't there anymore.
