Yes EMX is the set of libraries needed for the POSIX environment in OS/2. There are a number of outdated web sites around making claims about the latest version, but apparently it is really 0.9d, fix 4. It can be downloaded from Hobbes. I am using eComStation 1.1, but all you need is EMX which should work on OS/2 2.0 and up. 2-1 windows.

Hi, I've recently purchased a new machine, and unlike my old one, Microsoft Sam is the only voice output availiable. Personally, Microsoft Sam drives me insane. I've been trying to get the voice of 'LH Michael' onto my new machine, and have downloaded and installed:, both the English and British versions. After this did not solve my problem, I downloaded and installed:, however both of these moves proved inconclusive to my problem, and I still have the lonesome Microsoft Sam as the only output TTS availiable. Any help in solving my problem would be great, thanks.
Nigel Bufton 11/1/2007, 6:28 น. I'm new to this discussion business and find it really confusing to figure out how to get into the thing. I'm having a problem with Word text-to-speech. Since I can't figure out how to start a new thread I thought maybe I could horn in on this discussion and maybe get the answer I'm looking for.
Here's the problem: Sam talks for just about a minute and then shuts down. I start him talking again and again after a minute he shuts down. I've looked every place trying to find that box I have to check to make the guy keep talking to the end of the document. Thanks clydo spence-dog 30/5/2008, 13:35 น. Note the SAPI v5.0 can be downloaded from microsoft's site Download: Sp5TTIntXP.exe - to add Mike and Mary.
ALSO DOWNLOAD: msttss22L.exe - This upgrades the TTS engine.* *Doing so cleans up the voices somewhat and almost makes Sam bearable. Check this out, from 5/2007 'Microsoft does not provide additional speech engines (voices), but a number of third-party products are available that support the new Microsoft Speech API. For information on these products, visit the following Microsoft Web site: ' I'm not sure any of the 3rd party products are new or if they even work. One other thread I read said once you install trials of TTS, you get additional voices. I see CoolSpeech is shareware with a 14 day trial. Worth a shot to install after CoolSpeech? Edit- keep in mind CoolSpeech is supported through XP:(.
