I changed with hex editor in factory bin file 9 positions: V200R001B236D30SP00C00 on V200R001B180D20SP05C69. After that upgrade is possible. With V200R001B180D20SP05C260 maybe this V200R001B180D20SP5C260 can work, but you can kill modem if not!!!!with hex editor you can only replace numbers, never overwrite with longer number!!!! Just want to confirm that i used Kolos suggestion on a router with original FW V200R001B180D20SP05C397 and edited the string V200R001B236D30SP00C00 in the Bin file to match the Routers original FW of V200R001B180D20SP05C397. Even though the though the string i input was one char longer it worked. The original string was followed by two blanks in every instance so i took a chance that i could use one of those blanks. Worked like a charm!
And to be safe, after i flashed my 'hacked' Bin file, i Re flashed with an untouched V200R001B236D30SP00C00.BIN which the router now did accept without problems. Really nice tip Kolo.
